In the northern reaches of Nicaragua is the region of Nueva Segovia. The mountainous terrain is ideal for coffee production. It is here, in the town of Las Manos where Finca Agua Sarca is situated. The farm is named after the rich resource of water deep within the mountains, giving life to the coffee grown here.
Isacio Albir took over the farm 30 years ago, and has divided it into plots based on altitude and area. This coffee is from a plot called Los Cedros at 1450m altitude.
Maracaturra is natural hybrid between Maragogipe and Caturra, famous for its giant bean size and its complex, fruit-forward cup profile.
